International Criminal Court (ICC)
chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda has
closed her case against Deputy
President William Ruto and journalist
Joshua Arap Sang.
Media reports late on Thursday
evening indicate that Bensouda has
notified the Trial Chamber, parties and
participants of the decision.
The implication is that Bensoda has no
more evidence to present to the court
and has handed back to the Trial
Chamber to invite the defense to file a
no case to answer motion or start
calling their witnesses.
Either way defense will have to await
the outcome of their appeal against
admission of prior recorded
testimony.
