Derick Waswa famously known as (CAPTAIN) Started serious acting in 2003 at Chesamisi high school due to the influence of Mr Fred Shikuku Shitubi, In his 4 years in high school he acted 4 of his plays namely, Tarantula, Triple Eruption,A sip of The Nile and Curse in Nalubongo. Through Shitubi's aquintance Derick was
trained to write and direct plays and narrative having been attached
at that school in 2008 as his co-director taking the play Priceless
possessions to provincial level now regionals and narrative Ikoye Fishi
to clinch second runner's up at nationals. In 2009 He started Triple E
productions with the help of Bonface Lukunza and Martin Makosa plus
Frank Nyambane. With it he wrote plays like Golden Briefcase, Oh Campo
56, She used my lips and our break hit buster narrative Adhiambo C. He has also directed plays for the Kenya National Drama festival for K.u
winning play 2012- hallo adults, Kenya mass stand up comedy - school
episodes, Baricho School play psycho circus, Gaichanjiru High Tigress
empire. Apart from that I do act having featured as an extra in Tabasamu,
Mashtaka and now acting as Captain Gakoromone in Gavana KTN. He owns a
filming company called Orion Films that is leasing production equipment
to music videos and movie makers (for more inquiry on orion films contact 0728848019). He is an environmentalist degree holder of
environmental studies community development, and a diploma of film production
and directing. "We give thanks to the lord for the gift of life and
talent plus the calm in the nation that allows us to do our acting
business in peace" he saays adding that. In 5 years he will be running at least 3 programs on
the national TV as producer/director.
